Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

• Email address — for account creation and important service updates.
• Payment information — processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
• Usage data — how many times you use the tool, timestamps, and word counts.
• Anonymous analytics — page views, device type, and general usage patterns via PostHog.

2. What We Do NOT Collect or Store

This is the part that matters most. We do not store the text you submit for humanization. Your text is sent to our AI provider, processed, and returned to you. It is not saved on our servers — not temporarily, not in logs, not anywhere.

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not share your text with anyone. Your content is yours.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect to:

• Provide and maintain the service
• Process payments
• Send important account-related emails
• Improve the product based on aggregate usage patterns (never individual text)
• Prevent abuse and enforce rate limits

4. Cookies

• Essential cookies — session management and authentication. Required for the service to work.
• Analytics cookies — PostHog and Google Analytics for understanding usage. You can opt out.
• No advertising cookies. We don't run ads.

5. Third-Party Services

We use a small number of trusted third-party services. Each has their own privacy policy:

• Stripe — processes all payments securely. We never handle your card details directly.
• Vercel — hosts our application and serves pages globally.
• OpenAI / Anthropic — powers our AI text processing. Your text is sent to their API, processed, and returned. It is not stored by us.
• PostHog — provides anonymous product analytics so we can improve the service.
• Google Analytics — tracks page views and general site usage.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data — request a copy of everything we have on you.
• Delete your account — and all associated data. Email us and we'll handle it within 30 days.
• Opt out of analytics — disable PostHog and Google Analytics tracking at any time.

7. Data Retention

• Account data — retained until you delete your account.
• Submitted text — NOT retained. Processed and discarded immediately.
• Analytics data — retained for 12 months, then automatically purged.

8. GDPR (EU Users)

If you're in the European Union, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation:

• Legal basis: Consent (account creation) and legitimate interest (analytics).
• Data processors: Vercel (US), OpenAI / Anthropic (US), Stripe (US).
• Right to erasure: Email hi@humanizedraft.com and we'll delete your data within 30 days.
• Data portability: You can request an export of your account data at any time.

9. CCPA (California Users)

If you're a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you additional rights:

• Right to know what personal information we collect and how it's used.
• Right to delete your personal information.
• Right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We don't sell your data, so there's nothing to opt out of.
• Non-discrimination — we won't treat you differently for exercising your rights.

10. Children's Privacy

HumanizeDraft is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we'll delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll email registered users and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of HumanizeDraft after changes constitutes acceptance.
